A Talent ID Event is our first

look into you as a player

What is a Talent ID Event?

RIASA Talent ID events offer aspiring college players a glimpse into collegiate-level soccer, providing a competitive and challenging environment to showcase their skills. These events are the perfect opportunity for players to experience firsthand what life might be like at the soccer academy they’re considering joining. 

At our Talent ID events across the US and internationally, you'll have the chance to meet the RIASA coaching staff and experience their unique coaching style. These sessions provide insight into their expectations and approach to training, giving you a taste of what it’s like to be part of the programme.

Why are they important?

Talent ID events offer players a unique opportunity to showcase their skills in front of RIASA’s coaching staff while gaining valuable feedback to aid their development. They also provide a fresh look into the programme’s standards, helping players determine if it’s the right fit for their goals.

The ID Camps are a great way of getting noticed by coaches and scouts. Current Barnsley FC forward and former MLS veteran Jonathan Lewis attended a RIASA ID event before going onto have a successful career in professional football.

Where have we been in the past?

We usually aim to visit the US twice a year, during our Christmas break and over the summer. In recent years, we’ve frequented California, Texas and Florida, although we’ve also had the chance to host events in North Carolina and New York. We also have plans to visit other locations in the coming months.

ID EVENTS

Frequently asked questions

  • We usually aim for approximately 30 - 40 per session at the camp to make sure we can provide more personal coaching and have a chance to speak to every single one of you

  • From participants we see at the ID events, approximately 75% of student-athletes enter the recruitment process

  • Our GPA requirement is a 3.0 minimum, so keep studying well!

    On the field, keep developing your skills and fitness so you are ready to stand out when you attend the camp.

  • We have a presentation prior to the training session for parents and players to provide more information about life in the UK, living arrangements, and the academic structure. There will also be staff members at the event to answer any questions about our Leeds or London programmes.

  • If you are attending an event we will look to assess you for athletic approval there. Once you apply on our website we may ask for further highlight videos to support your application.
